The Sunshine Award

So apparently in the blogosphere, there’s something called “The Sunshine Award”. It is an award that recognizes special bloggers who… well… kick ass. I’m honored that my long time pal, Mat, from An Asian and His Camera, nominated me for this “e-ward”.  Now, there are some rules:

• Include the award’s logo in a post or on your blog.

1. Favorite Color?

Blue, hands down.

2. Favorite Animal?

Since I have 2, I’d have to say dogs.

3. Favorite Number?

I’ve had two general favorites: 3 and 7. I suppose I’d go with 3.

4. Favorite non-alcoholic drink?

This is an interesting question. Since I began drinking beer a few years back, I sort of backed off sodas and such. But I think water is too basic, so I’ll go with a sarsaparilla.

5. Prefer Facebook or Twitter?

Neither? They’re different in many ways, but I think I prefer Twitter for it’s simplicity.

6. My Passion?

Besides the obvious answers (family, career, etc.), anything related to the City of Boston. Anyone who knows me can tell you I have a pretty sick obsession with the Red Sox and anything that comes out of that region of Massachusetts.

7. Prefer Getting or Giving Presents?

I prefer to give, but on my own terms. I don’t like receiving lists of things to buy for people; or having something expected.

8. Favorite Pattern?

The Konami Code (Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right B, A, Start)

9. Favorite Day of the Week?

Saturday.

10. One Thing Which I Would Like to Improve About Myself?

Man, this feels like a job interview all of a sudden. To avoid some type of physiological evaluation, why don’t we stick with the topic of the blog: photography. I have *so* much to learn about photography, so to improve in every aspect over the next 12 months.

Nominations

1. Modern Scottie Dog

One of the first blogs I started following when I joined WordPress, Modern Scottie Dog is a pretty neat blog that is updated very frequently with very cool posts. Generally centered around Scottie dogs (my second favorite type of dog next to schnauzers), MSD is interactive and fun. I really enjoy what I see on that blog.

2. Fear the Beards

Another dog related blog, I love Fear the Beards because it’s a blog about two schnauzers that closely resemble my two schnauzers. When I say closely resemble, I mean, almost to a “T”. The two featured have the same fur color, and general look (I mean, most schnauzers look similar, but even their haircuts are similar!). This is a great blog if you like to follow the lives of dogs.

3. Travel Photography by Dmitri

This guy has amazing photographs. Most of them are from his travels, and they’re mainly of the HDR style. Definitely a really cool blog that I enjoy checking out.

4. Sweet Lil’ You

I actually know this blogger from Twitter. We both have unhealthy Red Sox obsessions. A new mother, the blog focuses around the trials and tribulations of such. There should be more blogs like this one.

5. Sadie & Dasie

Another blog that has to do, somewhat, with dogs. It is also one of the first blogs I started following upon joining WordPress. It’s a neat melting pot of photography, fashion, and dogs.

6. Cruise Stories

I went on my first cruise last year. Finding and following this blog was a no-brainer for me. And their latest post dealt with cruising with dogs! Perfect!

7. The Nature of Things

A blog I recently linked up to, the blog focuses around nature photography.

8. Love the photos

Pretty straight forward, right? “Photography at it’s peak awesomeness”. Again, pretty straight forward, right? Really neat photos that have a bit of an instagram look to them.

9. Rory Alexander Photography

I found this blog by chance because he liked a post over at An Asian and His Camera. This guy has unbelievable photos. If you’re in to photography, which I’m assuming you are since you’re here, you must go check his site out.

10. ishooteditnblog

Just read the title, it makes sense. I Shoot – Edit – n – Blog. Such an obvious title for such a blog. This person is on a nominations streak, and I thought that based upon my enjoyment of their blog, I’d add one more nomination!
