Here we are with Post 2 of the “Whole New (fisheye) World” theme set. This morning I brought you action and stillness with “Weeee!” , tonight, I’m bringing you a new view of everyone’s favorite street: Main Street USA.
Main Street USA is, of course, the first main attraction you see when entering the Magic Kingdom. Actually, it’s that way at almost all of the “Magic Kingdom” parks around the world. Can you name the one that doesn’t? Give up? It’s Tokyo Disneyland. TD-land the only one that doesn’t have a train station once you enter Not only that, Tokyo Disneyland has a cover along the entire length of Main Street. Wild stuff, eh?
What I like most about this photo is how far away Cinderella’s Castle looks. Easily one of the most photographed castles in Florida (unless Harry Potter has made a move), Cindy’s crib usually doesn’t look miles away when you stand on Main Street. That’s one of the joys of using a fisheye lens… and actually, that’s one of the downfalls too, but mainly when trying to photograph people. Anyway, this was one of the first shots I took in the park with the fisheye and I was quite pleased with the outcome, all things considered.
How about you? Do you like it? Or, even better, do you have a similar shot of Cindy’s Crib that doesn’t look so far away? Let’s compare… then hit Casey’s Corner for a butterbeer.
…wait… wrong corner bar.

Holy cow you managed to make Cindy’s castle look small. Cool!
